What is Comp In Training?
Comp In Training (CIT) is a rec program offering a higher level of training and development for players who have the talent, maturity, and interest to eventually play competitive soccer. We typically offer at least one boys and one girls team, depending on the number of qualified players.
The teams will play a normal rec season (with additional costs and practices) and play up to the U9 age group instead of U8, while gaining experience with 7v7 play. The purpose of CIT is to develop our GBFC athletes for future competitive seasons. This program has proven to better prepare and develop our young athletes whose teams have obtained a very high level of success on the field.

Tryout Process
There are evaluations to identify the players that are interested to ensure the players have the talent, maturity, and coachability to play CIT. GBFC will hold tryouts for both boys and girls CIT team(s), usually held in May or June. Teams will be formed based on the number of qualified players and available coaches.
Prior to tryouts, GBFC may hold pre-tryout clinics for those interested in trying out. Announcements regarding any pre-tryout clinics and the tryouts themselves will be sent by email to our general mailing list and posted to our social media pages. Players will be evaluated by highly-qualified soccer coaches and trainers from GBFC to determine exceptional talent for the age group.
CIT Season & Costs
The core of the CIT season will run in the Fall, with practices beginning as early as June/July depending on the team and coach. Teams will play a 10 game league schedule, running from late August through mid-November. Teams will typically play in our club's Ghosts & Goals Halloween themed tournament in October as well. Other games, scrimmages, or tournaments may be played depending on each team/coach. After the Fall season, it is possible that teams may participate in other training opportunities during the Winter and Spring.
Fall season registration will cost $150/player, just like a standard rec team. Uniforms will also be the same, usually around $30-$40 total if you don't already have one. In addition, the cost of any tournaments and possible team trainer will be split among the players. This can add roughly $300-$500 per player to the cost of playing on a CIT team. However, these costs can vary depending on the team trainer and other factors.
