Coaching Notes

Kara started playing soccer at age 6 and continued throughout high school and at a small college for 2 years. She discovered a passion for coaching when she traveled during the summers of her college years coaching sports camps around the US and in Brazil, so much so that she switched her major to Recreation Administration to be able to work with kids in more of an active/outdoor setting.

She strives to instill a love of the game in her players while teaching them the importance of attitude and effort on and off the field. At the end of the day, she wants her players to grow in their soccer skills and as a team but most importantly, to have fun; after all, that is why we play youth sports in the first place.

This will be Kara’s 5th year coaching with GBFC. She has coached both boys and girls on the rec side and CIT and is very excited about her first season on the comp side. She has held a couple positions on the board including Head Age Group Coordinator and is in her 2nd year of being the Rec Coach Director.
